Geologist Dean Enderlin, Tebow's fourth cousin, once removed, told the New York Times he has traced their ancestry to Andries Tibout, a Walloon, who immigrated from his native Bruges, Flanders to New York. He purchased a 261 acre plot in Oradell, NJ in 1686, upon which the Atwood-Blauvelt mansion was built in 1897. By the time Andries's great-great-great grandson, Ryer, moved to Ohio in 1811, the family's surname had changed to "Tebow". Tebow's grandfather relocated from Ohio to Florida in the 1940's.
